Terms & Conditions
The rules for nominating, entering and voting in the awards.
DRAFT: template wording. Have the committee, and ideally a lawyer, review this before launch, then delete this line.
1. Eligibility
- Nominees must be a business, organisation or individual based in Australia with a connection to the Nepali-Australian community.
- Businesses must hold a current ABN and operate lawfully in Australia.
- Members of the organising committee and judging panel, and businesses they own, are not eligible to win.
2. Nominations
- Entry is free. Self-nominations and third-party nominations are accepted.
- A nominee may be entered in more than one category with a separate nomination for each.
- The committee may accept, decline, re-categorise or remove any nomination at its discretion, including where information is inaccurate or misleading.
3. Public voting
- Voting is open to residents of Australia. Voters under 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian.
- Each voter may cast one vote per category. A vote only counts once the voter has confirmed it using the link emailed to them.
- Votes from disposable email addresses, automated tools or duplicate identities will be removed. The committee may disqualify votes, or nominees, where it has reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent voting or an attempt to manipulate the vote.
- Vote tallies are confidential and are not published.
- Voters' details are used only to administer the vote. They are never shared with nominees, sponsors or partners.
4. Finalists, judging and results
- Finalists in each category are the nominees with the highest number of confirmed public votes. The number of finalists may vary by category.
- Winners are chosen from the finalists by an independent judging panel, scoring against published criteria. Finalists may be asked to provide further information to the judges.
- Judges must declare conflicts of interest and abstain from categories where one exists.
- The committee's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. Publicity
By entering, nominees agree that their name, logo, photographs and nomination details may be used to promote the awards on this website, on social media and at the gala night.
6. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
